About Call-us-Cabs

The business was started by Andrew & Robbie Kyle (with quite a bit of help from Mary too!) in 2004. There was only one vehicle and a very competitive marketplace. Within a very short space of time the business had become the main supplier of private hire services in the South Queensferry area.

This position has since been proudly maintained and expanded, with a growing number of vehicles available. To achieve this, the business has had many helping hands along the way. Mary & Andrew have since retired from the business, but are occasionally seen helping at Wedding Fayres and other events. The business provides service to a growing number of villages and towns in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife through its franchise programmes.

In 2006 Call-us-Cabs introduced an environmental policy. We purchased and licensed the very first hybrid Private Hire Vehicle in Scotland. Our first Toyota Prius was fitted out with air-conditioning and leather interior. The noise levels are somewhat reduced as the electric motor powers the engine 60% of each journey. We stayed true to our values by charging the same rates to our customers in this vehicle as with any other Private Hire saloon Vehicle in our fleet.

We introduced a computerised booking and despatch in 2007. This state of the art equipment allowed us to control our increased number of vehicles more efficiently through its GPS feature. At a touch of a button we can locate our vehicles to within 6 metres! This system also ensures that the closest vehicle is allocated the job of collecting any booking thus significantly reducing any customer waiting time.

At the end of 2007 we integrated our latest accounts software. Every job payable on a clients account has a unique reference number and requires a signature which is electronically verified by the booking software and the PDA within the vehicle. This ensures that our clients have access to the most technologically advanced account facilities with the highest security levels.

2008 saw the re-branding of the executive side of the business. It was renamed ‘Bespoke’ and it has carried on the pedigree which saw Call-us-Gold begin by providing transport during the G8 Summit at Gleneagles in 2004.

Call-us-Cabs’ first online booking facility has arrived in the third quarter of 2008!
